John spent his early years growing up in Saudi Arabia and had the good fortune to travel with his Danish parents all over Europe and the Middle East. That experience has helped him 'see' the 'ordinary' from a slightly different perspective. He began dabbling in photography as a young adult taking travel and family photos. His photography began evolving to a more professional art form in 2004. His images are featured in local southern Oregon galleries and venues.
John's landscape, seascape, and nature images are primarily taken in Southern Oregon and along the Oregon Coast. He enjoys travel, architecture, and floral photography, as well. He has also been developing a fine art sepia collection. He seeks to capture images that convey a sense of peace, time, or place.
John uses traditional photographic techniques as well as the latest cutting edge digital processing.
For more than 30 years his full-time profession has been as a Cardio-Thoracic Surgical Physician Assistant helping patients and family through perhaps the most stressful days of their life.
Thus, he strives to create a landscape or seascape image that conveys a sense of beauty and peace to help us escape the stress of life in our everyday world.
