Education @ AAC offers affordable classes and workshops in a variety of mediums and formats. We have drop-in classes, workshops, and series classes for youth and beginning-to-advanced students. Some children’s classes have scholarships available, and scholarships for youth 13 – 24 are available on a case-by-case basis. We have free classes and events as well!
Our offerings are the result of strong partnerships between our Educational Program Director and local artists who either co-coordinate classes with AAC or rent AAC’s teaching spaces. Eduation @ AAC is also dedicated to bringing nationally-known artists to our area with events like Art Inspires Ashland every November.
Stay in the loop about our classes and events:

Free Offerings at AAC
For families and emerging artists: We currently have two weekly, recurring free offerings: Free Expressions. More free classes and events come up periodically so check our calendar for updates.
For artists and community groups needing a space to use: If you are interested in leading a free community art class or event, contact EducationDirectorAAC@gmail.com to share your proposal. In most cases, Education @ AAC is able to provide free use of the Classroom for art-related, free offerings that occur during AAC operating hours, 10 – 6 daily.
Special shows in the Classroom: Every First Friday, the Classroom is available for a local non-profit or community group to book for a special one-night-only, art-related community event for FREE. Email EducationDirectorAAC@gmail.com to check on availability.
For arts-related clubs: Are you part of a club with a creative focus? Whether you’re part of a group for writing, knitting, film-making, craft-ing, or more, we have space in the Classroom calendar to offer FREE on a monthly basis. Choose First, Second, Third, or Fourth Mondays, from 1 – 2:30 pm, and your group can meet for free in the Classroom. Club members are required to clean up after their meetings and put tables and chairs away no later than 2:45 pm. Email EducationDirectorAAC@gmail.com to check on availability.
Education @ AAC in the Community
When we can, we like to send our AAC artists and educators around Ashland to participate in events organized by other community organizations, like TreeHouse Books, the City of Ashland’s Parks and Recreation, Ashland Public Library, ScienceWorks, and more. Be sure to stop by AAC’s table at a community event that we’re taking part in and have fun making art!
